Friday December 2012
Ho ho ho....
We saw Santa a couple of days ago and told him we would like to have more Dungeness Crab for Christmas! Well guess what?... Yesterday Capt. Fred Arnoldi of the "Rosalena Marie" returned to port with a whole boat load of them! Ohhhh Santa is mighty awesome!
Our tanks are overflowing with these delicious crustaceans and we are excited to offer them for $8.95 lb. That's right... locally caught, cooked, cleaned and cracked Dungeness Crab for $8.95 lb. Or you can take them live if you choose.
If you're looking for that perfect gift or special dinner we are delighted to suggest Dungeness Crab, or any of our other outstanding seafood!
We strongly suggest that you pre-order (if you'd like to or are in a hurry) as the process time to cook, clean and crack will take at least 30 minutes.
Also as a reminder we will be closing at 4:00 pm on Christmas Eve, and closed Christmas day, then resuming normal hours again on Wednesday 12-26-12.
Merry Christmas from Capt. Mark, Miss Bonnie, Marc Tognazzini and the Dockside Crew. We look forward to celebrating the Holidays with you!

Good Evening and Ahoy!!!!!
Albacore News Flash…………
First we would like to remind all of you dedicated “Fish List” folks that the reason you have not heard from us is because our weekly newsletter comes out only May 1st to September 30th, and then other times from October to April when something special is going on at Dockside.
Special did we say special..... well here it is…….just today several of those fishermen that deliver their catch to us found the first LOCAL Albacore of the season and because of them we are going to hit the ground running. Tomorrow, October 20th, starting at 10:00 a.m. you will find this special Albacore here at Dockside for $2.95 a pound, and we will fillet them FREE of charge! The average fish is 20 to 25 pounds and as always all our Albacore have been specially handled at sea by bleeding, gutting and gilling them, and then placing them directly on ice…..no one else offers Albacore this way and we are proud to have dedicated fishermen that make the extra effort to do this. Only want a few pounds of fillet then they will be priced at $8.95 a pound.
Much thanks to Capt. Jim Nailen of the Seeker, Capt. Jimmy Dunn of the Fog Dog, Capt. Larry Chin of the Finaddict, and Capt. Dan Conners of the Silver Bullet. It is because of their efforts we can offer you these wonderful premium LOCAL Albacore.
So starting tomorrow……October 20 at 10:00 a.m., whole Albacore, $2.95 a pound, and we will fillet them free of charge, while supplies last.
Of course we have lots of other great fish this time of year and yes these Albacore will also be feature in the main restaurant.

Ahoy,
The 2012 pelagic season has been off to a slow start for many local captains however this week Capt. LeBeck of the Trailblazer turned things around with a solid landing of Opah, Swordfish, and Mako Shark. Opah and Mako Shark will be available this weekend in the Market for $8.95 per pound while Swordfish will be available for $13.95 per pound. Opah will also be featured as a “Fish of the Day,” in the Restaurant and as a Daily Special in the Market.
Did you know that Opah or “moonfish,” range in size from about 30lbs to well over 200lbs? They are also extremely colorful and have a silvery-grey upper body that fades to a pinkish belly that is dotted with white spots. They have red-orange fins and large eyes are encircled with gold. They are uniquely beautiful and their beauty is equally matched by the rich and fabulous flavor of their fillets making Opah one of our Dockside favorites!
In other fishing news, White Seabass fishing has remained steady for yet another week. Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet,” Capt. Dunn of the “Fog Dog,” Capt Loiseau of the “Fast Eddie,” and Capts. Jason and John Bigham of the “Big Time,” have all continued to feel the burn while fighting some extremely large White Seabass. These mega-sized fish will once again be available in the Market whole for $6.95 per pound or as fillets for $14.95 per pound throughout the weekend.
Other landings this week include Barracuda, California Halibut and Lingcod, just to name a few. With another week of solid fishing and great selection, we are sure to offer something for just about everyone.

Ahoy,
White Seabass fishing has remained strong and steady this week for many of our local captains. Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” Capt. Dunn of the “Fog Dog,” Capt. Shiflett of the “Mr. T,” and Capt Bigham of the ‘Big Time,” have all enjoyed some Seabass success while fishing just minutes north of Morrro Rock. Their landings have allowed us to once again offer fresh local White Seabass in the Market whole for $6.95 per pound or as fillets for $14.95 per pound. Be advised that just like last week, the fish are very large and average nearly 30 pounds. In the Restaurant Chef Joel Lopez is also excited to once again feature these moist, mild and succulent fish in a variety of specials throughout the weekend.
Local King Salmon fishing continues to surprise us with a handful of landings from Capt. Kann of the “Dream Chaser,” Capt. Nelson of the “Dottie K,” and Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker.” Usually by this time of year most King Salmon have moved north and we see very few local landings; however this year there are still a few fish around and local fishermen are continuing to have success. We are not sure how much longer this will last but are thankful for everyday that it does! In the mean time local King Salmon will be available this weekend in the Market whole for $10.95 per pound or as fillets for $21.95 per pound while supplies last.
Rockfish and Lingcod fishing have been consistent with solid landings of both. Capt. Patchen of the “Scampi,” Capt. Campopiano of the “Island Hopper,” and Capt. Appel of the “Klamath,” continue to provide us with good supplies of Lingcod, while Capt. Hackleman of the ‘Ruth Anne II,” has been dependable with his supplies of Blackgill Rockfish. Both fish will be offered in the Market throughout the weekend.
Finally, there are no Albacore on the horizon for this weekend however this time of year conditions and availability changes rapidly. As soon as we get another shot of our premium gilled gutted and bled fish, we will let you know.

Ahoy,
White Seabass fishing has picked up this week with solid landings from many of our local captains including Capt. Conners of the "Silver Bullet," Capt. Dunn of the "Fog Dog," Capt. Waddell of the "Nora Rose," Capt. Anderton of the "BBQ," and Capt Shiflett of the Mr. T." Each of these fishermen had some serious arm burning battles with the rod and reel this week landing many fish that exceeded the 50-pound mark. Due to the effort and success of these local fishermen, fresh Local White Seabass will be available in the Market this weekend whole for $6.95 per pound or as fillets for $14.95 per pound. Please be advised that if you would like to purchase a whole fish, they are very large, with most being over 30 pounds. As always, we will cut them for no additional charge.
Albacore fishing continues to be steady this week with another good showing from Capt. Nailen of the "Seeker." His premium, gutted, gilled, bled, and iced Albacore will be available in the Market whole for $2.95 per pound or as loins for $9.95 per pound. These fish are simply amazing and are truly the best fresh Albacore available anywhere! In the Restaurant, we are proud to once again feature these premium fish as a variety of specials throughout the weekend. Chef Joel Lopez will add his masterful touch to these amazing fish creating some mouth watering and memorable dishes.
In other fishing news, Lingcod, Rockfish and Grenadier fishing all continue to remain steady this week. Capt. Kann of the "C," Capt. Helzer of the "Scampi," and Capt. Campopiano of the "Island Hopper," have all done well fishing Lingcod, while Capt Patchen of the "Kaps," has had the hot hand when it comes to Vermilion Rockfish. Finally, Capt. Le of the "Eagle," had another successful trip and continues to keep us in good supply of Grenadier. Each of these fish will be available in the Market this weekend while supplies last.

Friday 31 August 2012
Ahoy,
As August fades and the final days of summer slip off into the sunset, we are still pleased to offer many summertime favorites including Albacore, White Seabass, California Halibut, King Salmon, Lingcod and Blackgill Rockfish to name just a few.
Albacore fishing this week was once again strong and steady near Santa Cruz. Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” delivered us some premium, gutted, gilled, bled and iced fish, restocking our supplies for the busy weekend that lies ahead. This weekend we will be offering the finest quality Albacore Tuna in the Market whole for $2.95 per pound, or fillets for $9.95 per pound. This is one of the best values that we offer so don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
White Seabass will also be available once again due a successful trip from Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet.” His voyage near Monterey paid off this week, as he was able to land a handful of these magnificent fish. His success allows us to offer White Seabass fillets in the Market this weekend for $14.95 per pound, while supplies last.
California Halibut fishing has been spotty at best throughout much of the year, with this week being no different. Capt. Schuyler of the “Flyer,” and Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet,” both reported landings this week, however supplies are limited and will go fast. With that said, California Halibut fillets will be available in the Market for $17.95 per pound.
Just when we thought that we had seen the last of the local King Salmon, Capt Nakazawa of the “Arima,” delivered another load and replenished our supply. His King Salmon will be available in the Market this weekend whole for $10.95 per pound or as fillets for $21.95 per pound. If you still haven’t had your Salmon fix, now is the time as we are not sure how much longer local King Salmon will be available.
Other fishing this week has been strong with landings of Lingcod from Capt. Helzer of the “Scampi,” Blackgill Rockfish and Blackcod from Capt. Hackleman of the “Ruth Anne Too,” and Grenadier from Capt. Nguyen of the “Eagle Jr.”

Thursday 23 August 2012
Ahoy,
As the local King Salmon season draws to an end, our seemingly steady supply has finally run out. Although we are hopeful to see one or two landings before the end of the month, we wont be surprised if this is the end of our season.
Our Albacore supply on the other hand still looks good for this weekend, and we will once again be offering Albacore loins for $9.95 per pound or whole fish for $3.95 per pound in the Market. These fish range in size form about 12lbs. to 25lbs. with most in the 16lb. to 18lb. range. If you decide to purchase a whole Albacore, they return between 55 to 58 percent resulting in an investment of around $7.00 per pound of loin. In the Restaurant, Chef Joel will once again be putting his masterful touch on these fine fish featuring them in a variety of specials throughout the weekend.
Lingcod and Black Rockfish fishing were both good this week for Capt. Patchen of the “Scampi.” Lingcod will be available in the Market for $10.95 per pound for fillets while Black Rockfish will be available for $8.95 per pound for fillets.
Finally, California Halibut fishing this week has been slow and steady with a few landings from Capt. Shiflett of the “Mr.T,” and Capt Waddell of the “Nora Rose.” These flaky and mild fillets will be available this weekend for $17.95 per pound while supplies last.

Thursday 16 August 2012
Ahoy,
Another August is underway and our anxious anticipation of Albacore has finally been answered! Capt Dunn of the ‘Fog Dog,” Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet,” Capt VanWagner of the “Pure Adrenaline,” and Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” all had strong trips while fishing Albacore near Monterey.
The Albacore landed by these captains are immaculate and have been taken care of using our strict guidelines and requirements. As many of you know, this means that the fish are spiked, gutted, gilled, bled, and iced at sea. This Dockside requirement ensures that you will be receiving the finest, premium quality fish available. You may see other fresh Albacore offered elsewhere, but we suggest that you demand Albacore handled in this manner! Not only are they superior in quality but because you are not paying for their gut, they yield a full 10% more in fillets than fish with their gut still in.
With that said, starting Friday August 17th and continuing through Sunday August 19th we will be featuring premium Albacore tuna loins for $9.95 per pound or whole Albacore for $3.95 per pound. As always, if you purchase a whole fish we will be happy to cut it free of charge. These fish range in size from 15 to 30 pounds and will return 55 to 58 percent of their whole weight. These fish will be available on a first come, first served basis and we are sorry but we will not be taking phone orders at this time.
In other fishing news, White Seabass returns from a short hiatus with a solid landing from Capt. Athens of the “Outer Banks.” White Seabass will be available in the Market this weekend for $14.95 per pound for fillets.
King Salmon fishing remains spotty with landings form Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker” Capt. Nakazawa of the “Arima,” and Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too.” We are in the last weeks of our season, so if you haven’t satisfied your Salmon fix then now is the time to do so. King Salmon will be available for $21.95 per pound for fillets or $9.95 per pound for whole fish.
Other landings this week include Vermilion Rockfish from Capt. Richardson of the “Raggamuffin,” Lingcod from Capt. Patchen of the “Kaps,” Grenadier from Capt. Le of the “Eagle,” and California Halibut from Capt Mowry of the “No Name.”

Thursday 9 August 2012
Ahoy,
Last week it looked like the local King Salmon season was tapering off, however with a little persistence a few local fishermen have turned that around. Capt. Riley of the “Lady Maxine,” Capt. Richardson of the “Raggamuffin,” and Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too,” traveled north this week toward San Simeon and were rewarded for their efforts. Their landings have once again enabled us to offer fresh local troll caught King Salmon in the Market as well as in the Restaurant. This week King Salmon will be available in the Market for $21.95 per pound for fillets or $9.95 per pound for whole fish. In the Restaurant Chef Joel Lopez will be offering King Salmon featured in a variety of his masterful dishes.
Halibut fishing this week has also been strong. Many local fishermen who had been fishing for Salmon have started to switch gears and look for Halibut. Landings from Capt. Mowry of the “No Name,” Capt Loiseau of the “Fast Eddie,” Capt Dunn of the “Fog Dog,” and Capt Coners of the “Silver Bullet,” have padded our supply of these fabulous flatties. Local California Halibut will be available in the Market this week for $17.95 per pound for fillets.
Capt. Patchen of the “Kaps,” continued last weeks roll and had another good week fishing for Lingcod and other assorted Rockfish. His Lingcod will be available in the Market for $10.95 per pound for fillets, while many of his other Rockfish will be available whole for $4.00 per pound. Or, if you are adventurous, you might want to try some of those whole Rockfish deep-fried for $6.95 each.
We hope to see you here!

Thursday 2 August 2012
Ahoy,
With the crisp clear days of July behind us we are finally greeted by the overcast and dew soaked mornings that define summertime here on the Central Coast. We have also been greeted this past week by some of the fish that are typical to this time of year.
Local White Seabass fishing finally seems to have taken off with some nice landings by Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet,” Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” and Capt. Athens of the “Outer Banks.” This weeks wonderful White Seabass were whale-sized with a few reaching the 50-pound mark! White Seabass will be available in the Market this week for $14.95 per pound for fillets or whole for $6.95 per pound. Please keep in mind that these fish are very large with only a few being less than 20 pounds. In the Restaurant, Chef Joel Lopez will be preparing these succulent fish as a variety of specials throughout the week.
King Salmon fishing continues to be slow and steady. Landings this week from Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too,” and Capt. Arnoldi of the “Rosalena Marie,” continue to keep us in supply of these fine fish. King Salmon will once again be available in the Market for $19.95 per pound for fillets or $8.95 per pound for whole fish.
Halibut fishing has also had a slight upturn as Capt Bengston of the “Wasn’t Me,” and Capt. Conners of the ‘Silver Bullet,” finally broke the Halibut hiatus with half-a dozen or so flatties. California Halibut will be available in the Market as fillets for $17.95 per pound while supplies last.
Last but not least, Lingcod fishing was also good this week for Capt. Patchen of the “Kaps,” and Capt. Morris of the ‘Plan B.” Capt Patchen had his best week in a while with his success making Lingcod available in the Market for $10.95 per pound for fillets.

Friday 27 July 2012
Ahoy,
Great weather and great variety have come hand in hand this week here at Dockside. Gorgeous conditions and calm seas have beckoned many local fishermen to head out in search of their quarry. Many have had good fortune and our selection this week reflects their success.
Halibut fishing has been good this week and we have seen landings from a variety of local captains including Capt. Mowry of the “No Name,” Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” Capt. Chapman of the “Hold on Fish on,” and Capt. Shiflett of the Mr. T.” Their catch of California Halibut will be available for $17.95 per pound for fillets in the Market.
White Seabass fishing has also been steady this week with landings from Capt. Dunn of the “Fog Dog,” Capt Conners of the “Silver Bullet,” Capt. Loiseau of the “Fast Eddie,” and Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker.” White Seabass will be available for $14.95 per pound for fillets in the Market and will also be featured in the Restaurant as a variety of scrumptious specials prepared masterfully by head chef Joel Lopez.
Local King Salmon fishing continues to be slow and steady with landings from Capt. Mark of the “Bonnie Marietta,” and Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too.” The efforts of these two captains continue to keep us in good supply of amazing local King Salmon. These fish will be once again available whole for $8.95 per pound or as fillets for $19.95 per pound.
Rockfish fishing has also been good this week with landings of Chilipepper Rockfish from Capt Seitz of the “South Bay,” and Blackgill Rockfish from Capt. Hackleman of the “Ruth Anne II.” Both fish will be available this weekend in the Market for $8.95 per pound for fillets.
Finally, Grenadier from Capt Nguyen of the “Eagle Jr.” and Lingcod from Capt. Arnoldi of the “Rosalena Marie,” and Capt. Morris of the “Plan B,” round out the amazing selection of local product available this week in the Market. Lingcod will be available for $10.95 per pound while Grenadier will be priced at $7.95 per pound. In addition, Grenadier will also be featured as “Fish of the Day,” in the Restaurant while supplies last.

Friday 20 July 2012
Ahoy,
Last week the Dog Days of summer were nipping at our heels with temperatures well into the triple digits over the hill. This week temperatures have dropped considerably inland while here on the coast we have had our own Dog Days resulting in Dog-Gone beautiful weather! Did you know that the term “Dog Days,” refers to the months of July and August when we experience our warmest temperatures? The name comes from the ancient belief that the hot weather was due to the proximity of Sirus, also called the Dog Star, to the Sun.
In addition to Dog-Gone good weather we have also been having some Dog-Gone good fishing. King Salmon fishing has remained steady for a few local fishermen including Capt. Mark of the “Bonnie Marietta,” Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too,” and Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker.” Their landings will be available in the Market throughout the weekend as whole fish for $8.95 per pound, or as fillets for $19.95 per pound. We will also be featuring these magnificent fish on our standard menu as well as in a few specials in the Restaurant throughout the weekend.
In attempts to escape the Dog-Eat-Dog competition of Salmon fishing, Capt Dunn of the “Fog Dog,” and Capt. Mowry of the “No Name,” went looking for some “flatties” and had success with landings of local California Halibut. Their fish will be available for $17.95 per pound in the Market this weekend while supplies last.
Finally, after a long trip and coming in Dog-Tired, Capt. Nguyen of the “Eagle,” had another successful trip fishing Grenadier. These mild and moist beauties will be available this weekend in the Market for $7.95 per pound for fillets. In the Restaurant, we will be offering Capt. Nguyen’s Grenadier as “Fish of the Day,” at least once this weekend.
One last note; remember that our patio at the Market is always Dog friendly. We have Dog leashes and Dog treats ready to keep your best buddy occupied while you enjoy an ice-cold beverage or tasty piece of fish here at Dockside Too.
We hope to see you here!

Thursday 12 July 2012
Ahoy,
Calm pleasant evenings and hungry King Salmon have brought smiles to the faces of a handful of local fishermen this week. Last week, many captains traveled northward in pursuit of the occasionally elusive King Salmon. They found consistent landings however prices were far lower than expected and many had difficulty finding a home for their catch. The few fishermen that stuck it out locally were rewarded this week with willing Salmon and willing buyers.
Capt. Mark on board the Bonnie Marietta was one of the fortunate fishermen who was rewarded with a few successful days this week right here near home. Although numbers were not quite enough to conduct sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta, we will be offering his fresh local troll-caught King Salmon this weekend in the Market at $7.95 per pound for whole fish! Yes!!! That’s right $7.95 per pound for whole fish! This is the same price that Capt. Mark has been offering off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta in the past and now it will be available in the Market!
Sales will begin Friday July 13th at 10:00 am at Dockside Too Fish Market and will continue throughout the weekend while supplies last. The vast majority of Salmon were landed by Capt. Mark of the “Bonnie Marietta,” however to supply the expected demand we have also brought in fish from Capt. Nungaray of the “Michael Too,” Capt. Nailen of the “Seeker,” Capt. Harpster of the “Fortuna,” and Capt. Conners of the “Silver Bullet.”
The average size is about 14 pounds with very few fish being below 12 pounds. As always, we will cut them any way that you like at no additional charge! With the end of our local season drawing near, this may be the last time that we are able to offer these majestic fish at such an amazing value!
We hope to see you here!

Ahoy,
Zip! Pow! Crack! Bang! And just like that, the sparks from the Fourth have flickered out and faded away. Likewise, local King Salmon fishing may also be fading as we have had extremely limited local production this week. With very few local landings, Capt. Mark stayed in port for most of the week resulting in another weekend with no sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta.
The good news is that King Salmon fishing from Monterey north has been steady for many fishermen keeping our supplies strong in both the Restaurant and the Market. Capt. Nailen of the "Seeker," was one fisherman who traveled northward this week and returned with some of these Savory-Silver-Sided-Salmon! His fish will be available whole for $10.95 per pound or as fillets for $21.95 per pound.
In other fishing news, Capt. Nguyen of the "Eagle Jr." had local success this week while fishing Grenadier. We like to describe Grenadier fillets as kind of like a cross between Rockfish and Sole. The head portion of the fillet has similar thickness and texture of Rockfish while the narrow and tapering tail section is thin and delicate more like Sole. The fish itself looks nothing like either of the two however its fillets are comparable, being moist mild delicate and extremely tasty. Grenadier will be available in the Market this weekend for $7.95 per pound for fillets.
Other fishing this week has been somewhat unremarkable, however with fair weather on the horizon, we expect that this will dramatically change over the next few days.

Friday 29 June 2012
Ahoy,
As the month of June sails off into the sunset Independence day seems to be right around the corner. The anticipation of rumbling explosions, vivid flashes of color, and the hint of scorched sulfur strikes memories that take us back to some other distant place and time. For us, these seasonal cues remind us of family, friends and of course backyard BBQ’s full of fish!!!
What better way than to kick off this 4th of July than with fresh King Salmon or White Seabass sizzling on the grill? If that sounds about your speed, we will be offering both fish in the Market and Restaurant throughout the weekend.
Although local Salmon fishing continues to be slow, Capt. Mark and the Bonnie Marietta have kept us in steady supply of fresh local King Salmon. Landings were too slim to offer direct sales this weekend however his amazing fish will be once again available in the Market for $10.95 per pound for whole fish or $21.95 per pound for fillets. Capt. Mark’s King Salmon will also be available in the Restaurant on our regular menu as well as the possibility of an evening special or two
We are also pleased to offer White Seabass from Capt. Mintz of the "DJ," once again. These moist flaky and mild fish will be available whole for $4.95 per pound or as fillets for $12.95 per pound. White Seabass will also be featured in the Restaurant as "Fish of the Day," while supplies last. This superior quality fish prepared in a variety of ways is a great value any way you slice it.
Other fishing has remained steady this week and our selection remains strong. With so many choices we hope that you will find just what you’re looking for here at Dockside and Dockside Too.
The Tognazzini family & crew
Thursday 21 June 2012
Ahoy,
The White Seabass opener started out with a bang!!! Capt. Mintz of the "DJ," had a great trip fishing White Seabass this week near Santa Barbra. These mild, moist, flaky and succulent fish will be featured whole for $4.95 per pound or as fillets for $12.95 per pound. They average about 16 pounds with some pushing well over the 20-pound mark. As always, if you purchase a whole fish we will cut them for no additional charge.
Salmon Fishing has slowed considerably this week with very few local landings. A handful of fishermen had some success but needed to travel northward in order to find a few that were willing to be caught. With limited production Capt. Mark will not be conducting sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta this week, however King Salmon will still be available in the market as whole fish for $10.95 per pound, or as fillets for $21.95 per pound.
In addition to White Seabass, and King Salmon there has been a variety other local success this week. Landings include Mako Shark and Thresher Shark from Capt. Mintz of the "DJ," Sand Sole and Halibut from Capt. Evans of the "Lucy L," Blackgill Rockfish from Capt. Hackleman of the "Ruth Anne II," and Barracuda from Capt. Mowry of the "No Name." With these and many more this weeks selection at Dockside and Dockside Too is sure to please just about everybody.

still have quite a few left to go!!! As of 6:00 pm there is no line, and at least 20 fish still available.

Ahoy,
Salmon fishing continues to be much of the same, with wind driving
most of the fleet in before noon. However, with continued persistence and determination, Capt Mark has
scraped together enough fish to once again conduct sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta!
This week Capt. Mark and the Bonnie Marietta will be docked at
Dockside Too Fish Market and will begin sales FRIDAY June 15th at 5:00 pm. He is proud to continue
to offer these amazing, fresh, local; hook and line caught King Salmon for $7.95 per pound whole and
as always will cut them at no additional charge.
Please note that this weeks catch consists of about 600 pounds
of fish. This is about half of what has been available during previous weeks sales so be fore warned
that supplies will go extremely fast!
Once again...
FRIDAY... 5:00pm...
DOCKSIDE TOO...
$7.95 per pound...
KING SALMON!
We hope to see you there!

Friday 08 June 2012
Ahoy,
Salmon fishing this week has once again been spotty at best.
With the wind picking up well before noon, time spent on the fishing grounds has been extremely
brief, resulting in landings of only a handful of fish each day. Due to another week of limited
production, Capt. Mark will not be conducting sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta this weekend.
The good news is that Capt. Mark's fish will be available in
the Market once again! You are still able to purchase a whole fish for $10.95 per pound and we
will be happy to cut it for you free of charge. If a whole fish is too much for you to handle,
fillets will also be available for $21.95 per pound.
The forecast for next week looks like the possibility of better
weather but as everyone knows, that can change at the drop of a hat. We will keep our fingers
crossed and keep you updated next week.
In another side note, this Sunday at Dockside Too we will be
featuring the 3rd annual "Fast Eddie's Memorial Jam." This event will feature a variety of local
musicians with the proceeds from our beer and wine garden as well as musicians tips being donated
to Woods Humane Society. The event starts at 1pm so we hope to see you there!

Thursday 31 May 2012
Ahoy,
Wind and waves have continued to make
conditions tough for local fishers this week. Capt. Mark on board the Bonnie
Marietta has been able to fish for a few short hours in the mornings, but with
very few bitters and such horrible conditions, he has been returning early most
afternoons. With that said, the there will be no sales from the decks of the
Bonnie Marietta this weekend.
Capt Mark describes working in rough weather
as kind of like trying to work on a roller coaster, only with cold bitter wind
and constant blinding sea spray. Throw working with sharp knives, hooks, and
moving mechanical parts of the boat and it definitely makes working in those
conditions very interesting.
Although there won’t be any direct sales this
weekend, you will still be able to purchase Capt. Marks King Salmon in the
Market as fillets for $21.95 per pound or whole for $10.95 per pound while
supplies last.

Ahoy,
Storm warnings with lots of wind have kept
most of the fleet tucked ashore over the past few days. Capt Mark and the Bonnie
Marietta did however tough it out early this week but the increasing winds made
it impossible to land enough fish for direct sales this weekend. The fish that
he was able to bring in have gone directly to the Market and will be available
as fillets for $21.95 per pound or whole for $10.95 per pound. As soon as the
winds recede and conditions improve he will be back out searching for more of
those magnificent beauties.
Other local fishing has also been thwarted by
the wind and supplies of our usual favorites are limited. With Memorial Day fast
approaching, we have outsourced a few other fresh favorites such as Pacific
Halibut and Pacific Halibut Cheeks from Alaska and Yellowtail from Mexico to
compensate.
We would like to thank everyone who came out
last weekend to support Dockside’s annual 4th of July fundraiser. Hard to
believe, but we cooked and served approximately 150 dozen BBQ oysters from
1-6pm! Wow! The event was a huge success and 100% of the proceeds went directly
to help keep the firework show in Morro Bay.

Ahoy,
We hope that yesterday’s update has stirred
up some excitement for this weeks direct sales of fresh, local, hook and line
caught, gilled, gutted, bled and iced California King Salmon. Sales will begin
FRIDAY May 18th at 8:00am off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta, which will be
docked at Dockside Too located at 1235 Embarcadero.
Capt. Mark and the Bonnie Marietta will fish
today and tomorrow and return in time to unload his catch Friday morning. He
says that he has about 1500 pounds of fish on board and urges you to come early
due to the strong demand. Remember that we were sold out just after 8:00 am
during the first week of sales.
The average fish this week is about 11lbs
with very few weighing over 14lbs. These immaculate fish are priced at $7.95 per
pound whole, and as always we will cut them free of charge.
We will be conducting sales this FRIDAY due
landings early in the week as well as other events here at Dockside this weekend
including the Mermaid and Pirate parade beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, and
the 3rd annual BBQ Oyster Feed and 4th of July fundraiser starting at 1:00pm on
Sunday. Both weekend events include free seadogs, corndogs, and drinks for the
kids.
We hope to see all of you for at least one if
not all three exciting events here at Dockside this week!

Ahoy,
Just a quick note about Salmon sales this
week off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta.... Capt. Mark has had some success
early this week while fishing near Port San Luis. His efforts have allowed us to
once again conduct direct sales of fresh, local, hook and line caught King
Salmon starting this FRIDAY!!!
That’s right, the big change for this week is
that sales will begin FRIDAY May 18th at 8:00 am and not the typical Saturday.
The Bonnie Marietta will be docked at Dockside Too located at 1235 Embarcadero
and the price is still an amazing $7.95/lb for whole fish.
We will update everyone again on Thursday
with more specifics, but for now mark your calendars for this Friday at 8:00 am.

Ahoy,
Salmon fishing has slowed considerably this
week and although Capt. Mark was able to land a handful of fish, there will not
be enough to conduct sales from the decks of the Bonnie Marietta this weekend.
However, the few King Salmon that he did land will be available in the Market
whole for $10.95 per pound or as fillets for $21.95 per pound.
He says that there are a few scattered fish
but no distinct concentrations and hopes that this may change over the next few
weeks. As soon as it does we will notify you of any future plans for direct
sales.
Off the boat sales last week went incredibly
well and believe it or not, we were sold out by 8:15am!!! It was great to see so
many familiar faces, including those who showed up at 6:30am to be first in
line. We are truly humbled by the demand and appreciation for these magnificent
fish. Hopefully this was just a taste of what is in store this season.
Although there will be no sales off the decks
of the Bonnie Marietta this weekend, we will continue to feature Capt. Marks
King Salmon in the Market as well as many other fresh local favorites including
Bank Rockfish from Capt. Mintz of the "DJ," Sand Sole from Capt. Evans of the
"Lucy L," and Lingcod from Capt. Eaton of the "Curly," Capt. Patchen of the "Kaps,"
and Capt. Tobin of the "Pleasure." Lingcod will be available for $10.95 per
pound for fillets while Bank Rockfish and Sand Sole will be available for $8.95
per pound for fillets. Sorry for any confusion

Ahoy,
May is finally here and so is the opening of
the long awaited California King Salmon season! This is the time of year when we
will re-start our weekly postings notifying you of direct sales and fishing
updates.
This week we are delighted to announce the
return of direct sales off the decks of the Bonnie Marietta with local troll
caught California King Salmon. Capt. Mark was able to land a few of these
majestic fish and his catch will once again be available directly from the boat
to you.
His fresh, local, gilled, gutted, bled, and
iced King Salmon will be available for $7.95 per pound whole. King Salmon have a
very high flesh return, which means that you will have less than $14.00 per
pound for steaks or fillets. Remember that direct sales off the Bonnie Marietta
require us to sell only whole fish however; as always, we will cut them free of
charge. This weeks landings consist of around 1000 pounds of fish with the
average fish weighing about 12 pounds.
Please note that for the first time, sales
off the Bonnie Marietta will take place here at Dockside Fish Market located at
1235 Embarcadero. Sales will start at 8am and with such few fish and such great
demand, they will go fast. We are extremely excited to once again share this
experience with you and hope that this is simply a taste of what is in store
over the next few weeks!
UPDATE
This weekends sales will take place on Saturday May 5th starting at 8:00
am from the decks of the Bonnie Marietta. The boat will be docked up at Dockside
Fish Market located at 1235 Embarcadero St.
Sorry for any confusion

Tuesday 10 January 2012
Ahoy,
2012 is in full swing and we couldn’t have
dreamed for a more beautiful January here on the Central Coast! With the onset
of a new year, crab fishing has shifted gears as some captains have begun to
move their pots southward. Capt. Fosmark of the "Seeadler," along with Capt.
Arnoldi of the "Rosalena Marie,"have both had recent success enabling us to keep
Dungeness crab available here at Dockside.
With the arrival of crabs from Capt. Fosmark
and Capt. Arnoldi, and because of popular demand, we have been inspired to
feature our second Dockside Dungeness Crabfest of the season! So once again, get
ready to roll up your sleeves, tie on that silly little plastic bib, and invite
your family and friends to sit down and enjoy this festive event.
Crabfest will start on Friday, January 13th
and continue through Sunday, January 15th, with fresh, chilled, Dungeness crabs
available for lunch or dinner in our Restaurant. Although the price of crabs is
on the rise, we will continue to offer a whole Dungeness crab, cooked, cleaned,
and cracked with all the fixings for $21.95. Please call ahead to make
reservations as this event fills up quickly.
If you would rather have a crab to eat at
home, they will be available in the Market for $7.95 per pound. Remember that
crabs take about 25 to 30 minutes to cook so please feel free to call in and
order your crabs ahead of time. Please specify Restaurant or Market when making
reservations or ordering crabs.
We would like to wish you all a Happy New
Year and hope to see you here at Dockside this weekend!
